WHAT IS A MUSIC VIDEO hmmmmmm..
A Music video or a song video is a short film integrating a song and imagery, produced for promotional of artistic purposes.First Lesson:-
Our first lesson consisted of an introduction to the A2 media course, where the focus would be on music videos. We were then told that our coursework unit consisted of working in groups of 3-4 students to create our own music video, a 4-6 part CD cover for the band, and an advert for the CD to go into a magazine.

After this brief introduction, our teacher then told us that we had a choice between using Mainstream music and Underground. We were then informed that if our video became too mainstream and current that it would lack originality, it is now my task to go and research and analyse both Mainstream and Underground videos to add to my research and planning for the creation of my music video.
Below is an Example of MAINSTREAM
Artists & ORIGINAL Bands.

Jay-Z & Kanye West |
Both the videos that I have uploaded above is a perfect example of the contrasting Music Videos you get from Mainstream Artists and Original/Underground bands, it shows that Mainstream tend to use a bigger budget and more special effects to advertise and promote their music whilst it is quite conventional for Original/Underground Artists or bands to showcase live performances of their raw talent in their Music Videos...
For Example ...
VINCE KIDD
Vince Kidd, was a recent contestant on the BBC singing talent show called'The Voice' he came 4th on the show.
Kidd was an Underground Artist before the show remixing iconic songs such as 'Like A Virgin' by Madonna, during his appearance on the show he made a Music Video which was published on a website called 'SBTV' where many young talented Underground/Original Artists publish their Music Videos.
Below is the actual music video which was published on SBTV.

Towards the end of the lesson our teacher then showed us previous Music Videos created by A2 media students from our sixth-form.
